The Insights Festival is over for another year!
Thank you to our amazing hosts for helping us to deliver a vibrant and unique programme of more than 350 events for those working in the Criminal Justice System.
A phenomenal 16,000 free tickets were allocated this year - thank you to all our attendees, we hope you enjoyed your chosen events.
Keep an eye on the website over the coming weeks because we will be sharing recordings of online events, photos, and experiences from hosts and attendees. If you have any photos or videos from events or would like to contribute to a blog about your experiences, we would love to hear from you! Please contact us at Insights@justice.gov.uk.
Lastly, your feedback is incredibly important to us. If you hosted or attended an event, you will shortly receive a link to a short survey. We would be very grateful if you could complete it ASAP to tell us what worked well and how we can improve. Your feedback crucial to the continued success of the Insights Festival.
Thank you!
Who can attend Insights23 events?
The majority of Insights23 events are open to all staff who work in, or support the work of, the Criminal Justice System. This includes staff who work at HMPPS, MoJ, Police, HMCTS, third sector, health and justice services, private sector, scrutiny bodies, academic institutions, and arms length bodies. Some of our events are restricted to certain audiences due to security issues or because the event has been tailored for a specific audience. Please see the event details for any restrictions.
Please register for events using your work email address as this is what we will use to verify that you work for a recognised criminal justice organisation. On occasion, we may need to contact you for further verification – please do not be offended if this is the case.
Who is eligible for a Frontline Pass?
The Frontline Pass has been introduced in an effort to improve equality of access to Festival tickets for frontline staff. The Pass is available to all criminal justice staff who work in an operational setting (for example prison, probation office, court, approved premises, unpaid work, community project) who deliver, or support, frontline services and interventions. This includes managers and administration staff who are based at operational sites.
I want to book a ticket but am being asked for a Membership Code, what do I do?
Membership codes are provided to staff who have registered for a Frontline Pass and allows you to book tickets from 3rd July. You will not need to enter a Membership Code when tickets go on general release from 17th July.
When will I be notified if I have been selected to attend a VIP event?
Registrations for VIP events will close on 25th August and the lucky ticket holders will be notified by 1st September. If you do not hear from us by that date, please assume you have been unsuccessful – we will not send further confirmation. If you have been selected, the host will liaise with you directly to confirm details.
I have registered for a ticket but can no longer attend. What should I do?
Due to high demand for tickets, please only register for events that you intend to attend. If circumstances change and you can no longer attend, please let us know ASAP at insights@justice.gov.uk and we will allocate your ticket to someone on the waiting list. Please provide us with the name of the event and the date in the email.
Will online events be recorded?
Where possible we will be asking hosts to record online events and we will make the recordings available on the website shortly after the Festival. Some events may not be suitable for recording due the nature of the event or audience restrictions.
Can I claim travel and expenses to attend Insights23 events?
All HMPPS and MoJ staff can claim travel and expenses through their local cost code, however please seek permission from your line manager in advance to attend events outside of your local area.
For all other staff, please speak to your line manager about claiming expenses.
Will there be any security restrictions at events?
All events taking place at prisons and youth custody centres will have additional security requirements and restrictions on what you can bring with you on site. These requirements will be conveyed to you by the host before the event. Depending on the level of security at the site, you may be required to provide ID in advance.
